Westmeath-based author Manchán Magan has unveiled a captivating new book, Brehons and Brahmins, which explores striking cultural parallels between Ireland and India. Renowned for his novels and documentaries on Irish and global cultures, Magan delved into these connections during his travels to India, uncovering similarities in mythologies, languages, and social frameworks.

The book, released this November, marks the first installment of a planned trilogy. Future volumes will examine Ireland’s cultural links with Iceland and Australian Aboriginal communities.

Magan attributes these fascinating similarities to shared roots from people who lived over 4,500 years ago.
